How much is entry?

My biggest wins were first place at the RPT in Kiev, Ukraine, in 2012 and at the WPT Merit Classic in August 2013, where I came third in the Main Event. This time I have won first place in WPT Super Hold’em and fifth place in Warm Up event of WPT Merit North Cyprus Classic’14.


What exchange rate will I receive if I buy in with a different currency?


Buy-in exchange rates are set per tournament, on the first starting day of the tournament for multi-day tournaments. Players who buy in via the partypoker software will receive the exchange rate given by the software on that day. The holding tanks will be set in the local currency if this currency is available on the software. Players who have their partypoker account set in the same currency will not be affected by exchange rates. This does not include cash buy-ins at the venue. Cash exchange rates are set by the venue and are not under the control of partypoker LIVE.


What exchange rate will I receive if my payout is made with a different currency?


Payouts made into partypoker accounts will be paid at the exchange rate of the site on that day. Players who have their partypoker account set in the same currency will not be affected by exchange rates.


Are there any specific satellites for this event?


There are no specific satellites for this event.


Can I use PP LIVE Dollars to buy in to this event?


Yes, you can use PP LIVE Dollars to buy in to this event and all side events on the schedule. If you do not have enough PP LIVE Dollars to buy in in full, you must win more PP LIVE Dollars or buy in in cash in full. No part payments are permitted.

Players can win PP LIVE Dollars every day on partypoker, they will be in your wallet within 24 hours and you’ll be notified by email.


Can I sell or transfer my PP LIVE Dollars to another player?


Players are not able to sell or transfer their PP LIVE Dollars to another player.


If I buy into an event with PP LIVE Dollars and decide not to play the event, will my buy-in be refunded?


If a player buys in with PP LIVE Dollars and does not want to play the event or does not turn up to the event, they can contact support staff for a full refund into their PP LIVE Dollar wallet. Any promotion will be void and cash expenses must be paid back before a refund is issued.


What can I use PP LIVE Dollars for?


PP LIVE Dollars can be used for tournament entry and expenses including travel and accommodation expenses. To claim back expenses from their PP LIVE Dollar wallet, players must visit the PP LIVE desk at the event and provide evidence of expenditure.


How do I buy in to this event using PP LIVE Dollars?


Visit the schedule page and on the left side of the page there is an option to buy in to all events.


I qualified via a PP LIVE Dollars satellite. Can I choose which Day 1 I want to play?


Yes, PP LIVE dollars are a flexible currency and can be used to buy in to any live or online Day 1. You can also buy in directly to Day 2 with PP LIVE Dollars.


Is there a specific PP LIVE Dollars promotion for this event?


The first 100 players to buy into the Merit Poker Classic Main Event using PP LIVE Dollars will receive a free hotel room for seven nights at the Merit Park Hotel. The package includes free food and drinks at the hotel. If a refund is requested the hotel will be cancelled before the refund is processed. If the player has already taken advantage of the free hotel, they must return the hotel cost before the refund is processed.The first 100 players to buy into the Merit Poker Classic Warm Up using PP LIVE Dollars will receive a free hotel room for three nights at the Merit Park Hotel. If I’m eliminated from a Day 1 can I enter another Day 1 on the following day?


Yes. You can play as many Day 1s as you wish.


Can I re-enter a Day 1 on the same day if I’m eliminated?


Yes. The event has unlimited re-entry.


What happens if I have multiple stacks going into Day 2?


Only your highest stack will be carried through to Day 2. All other stacks will be forfeited.

How is the prize pool paid out?

Marvin Rettenmaier made history this week when he became the first player ever to win back-to-back World Poker Tour main events.

The young German emerged victorious in the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic, the first event of the new WPT season XI, after winning the WPT Championship $25,000 main event that closed season X in May.

Rettenmaier topped a field of 329 entires, earning the $287,784 first-place prize and 720 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. As a result he climbed into third place in the overall standings with 3,272 points and $1,872,791 in year-to-date earnings. This was Rettenmaier’s third title of the year, and sixth final table finish as well.

Rettenmaier eliminated all five of his final table opponents en route to victory, as well as seventh place finisher Erik Cajelais the day before. Cajelais took home $43,690 and 180 points, moving him into 27th place in the rankings for making his fourth final table appearance of 2012.
