Slot Receiver Nfl 2019

There are a few big-name running backs available, but the wide receiver position is almost the opposite. There are a few guys who may be 1B type receivers, but there is no true 1A available. That could lead to some bad contracts for teams that are desperate for playmakers outside the numbers. Let’s get right to our rankings.

Now he might be the best slot receiver in football—though he has to contend with the next guy for that title. Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks. — NFL (@NFL) September 30, 2019. Slot receivers who can break tackles, create space for themselves or that have the versatility to work deeper routes into the repertoire are special weapons. In 2019, Jarvis Landry was one of those.

The definition of a 1B receiver, Tate went from super underrated to talked about so much he was properly rated to the savior of the Eagles — for some — to the free agency market. Tate can still pick up yards after the catch. He’s a solid veteran who can help a contender. This is probably his last shot at a big contract so he should be looking to cash in if he’s going to sacrifice winning.

Funchess is coming off his rookie deal and he should be looking to cash in. He’s not an All-Pro level receiver, but he has the physical makeup to succeed as a bigger possession wide receiver. He’s never going to be a 1A, but he’s a solid 1B and he’s young so he can improve. He can be frustrating and has been since he played at Michigan. Fans always feel like he can do a bit more. Going to a place with set expectations would help Funchess, or he can hang around Carolina since he knows the system and the Panthers don’t exactly have great depth at receiver.

Who needs a burner wide receiver who can stretch the field? Brown showed this year that he can provide that skillset still. Brown may not fit as well with the Ravens now that they are switching to a more running base offensive scheme. Brown is a good complementary wide receiver. He’s not a starter. He’s best when he can use his speed against opposing defensive backfields.

Crowder is a solid slot receiver if he can stay healthy. He’s young and coming off a rookie contract. He supposedly wants to stay in Washington, but there might be better spots for him to showcase his talent.

The Chargers need to move on from Tyrell Williams so they can play more Mike Williams. Their skills are kind of duplicative and the Mike version has a much higher upside. Tyrell always seemed to have a drop in a big spot. He is big. He can stretch the field. Someone is going to give him way too much money.

We are moving to on to the quick hits since the big names are kind of done now. Can someone please give Dorsett a role? He was great when he was actually targeted in New England, which was rare.

Cobb should probably just figure out a way to return to Green Bay. He may be at the tail end of his career.

Bring Moncrief back from his time in witness protection in Jacksonville.

Humphries is going to end up in New England and become their new slot receiver who puts up numbers, isn’t he?

He should stay in New England. They know how to use his versatility.

Beasley is a slot receiver who needs a change of scenery . . . or maybe he doesn’t need a change of scenery and he was overrated just because he plays in Dallas.
